Statement on communication technology
Headlight Mental Healthcare, PLLC, does not offer 24-hour-per-day on-call service, crisis coverage, or emergency treatment.
If you or someone you know is in immediate need of medical or psychiatric care or is an immediate danger to self or others, please dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Important information about text messaging
Text messaging is not a secure means of communication and may compromise your confidentiality. Also, people sometimes misinterpret the meaning of a text message and/or the emotion behind it. If you text anything that is related to your treatment plan, we may keep these messages in your medical record. We do not keep texts for appointment changes or medication refills in your record.
Important information about email
We welcome emails from you. Our email address is HIPAA compliant per Google Workspace’s rules for providers and follows their strict standards for encryption. A Business Associate Agreement is on file, and all incoming and outgoing messages are securely locked and double-encrypted through Paubox HITRUST LSF, prevented all email communication from being intercepted, breached, or cross-referenced through phishing campaigns.
Important information about social media
Please do not connect with, follow, or contact any of our staff via public or private social media. We do not respond to requests or communications on social media from established patients.
Policy for no-shows, late arrivals, and late cancellations
This office has a strict policy for no-shows, lateness, and cancellations.
We at Headlight Mental Healthcare work very hard to respect your time and commitment by doing everything in our power to keep your appointments in a timely manner and avoid unnecessary rescheduling. It is our hope that you will do the same by following the guidelines outlined below:
- Provide 24 hours of notice prior to scheduled appointment for a full cancellation refund. You agree to the appointment time and date when it is scheduled. As a result, technical issues with appointment reminders, texts, or emails do not excuse you from the personal responsibility to keep your appointment.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late, you’ll have to reschedule your appointment. Lateness inconveniences other patients.
- We will send you a reminder about our policy via the patient portal after the first time you no-show, arrive late, or fail to cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. This is a warning that we will put our policy will be put into effect the next time you no-show, arrive late, or fail to cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
- If this becomes habitual you are subject to termination by the provider or clinic. A certified letter and final 30 day medication supply refill provided.
